This is the most significant collaboration project in high-energy physics arena between China and the US. RHIC- STAR aims to study the QGP and origin of the universe. Tsinghua University plays an important role in the collaboration. The group adopted Multi-gap resistive plate chamber (MRPC) technology to construct a full barrel time of flight (TOF) system STAR experiment. The time resolution of TOF can reach 80ps and the PID capability in high momentum is improved greatly. TOF plays the key role in the detection of anti-matter. The group also developed a new type of muon telescope detector (MTD) for STAR. MTD is a very good probe to study the QGP and it will play an important role in successive runs of the experiment.
