China Jinping underground laboratory (CJPL) by Tsinghua University and Yalong River Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. in 2009 began a joint construction and operation, is one of the world's largest, most rock cover deep space, first-class comprehensive conditions of the underground laboratory.

Chinese dark matter experiment cooperation group (CDEX) was founded in 2009, led by the Tsinghua University, Sichuan University, Nankai University, China Institute of Atomic Energy jointly organized, the Yalong River Hydropower Development Co. Ltd. and other units of the scientific research personnel, to carry out direct dark matter detection experiments using HPGe detector.
