The Institute of Medical Physics and Engineering of the Department of Engineering Physics in Tsinghua invites applications for one faculty appointment for an assistant researcher/professor in Medical Physics and Engineering. Applicants must have a Ph.D. and demonstrated excellence in research in nuclear medicine imaging, especially PET and SPECT imaging technologies.
Tsinghua has a broad and vibrant R&D program in the field of nuclear medicine imaging technologies. With strong theoretical and experimental effort in the development of nuclear medicine imaging system, including radiation detectors, mechanical and automation systems, nuclear electronics, physics and system design, and advanced medical imaging algorithms and software, it not only contributes in commercial systems like radioactive material tracing and positioning system, small animal PET/SPECT/CT system and clinical SPECT system, but also participates in research system development of the human PET/CT system.
The successful candidate or candidates are expected to conduct an outstanding research based on these R&D program and provide scientific leadership for existing or new efforts in nuclear medicine imaging. We expect the successful candidate to become a world leader in their area of expertise.
A Tsinghua professor should teach classes in the Department of Engineering Physics, to serve as PhD advisors of graduate students, and to mentor undergraduate students, as well as supervising postdoctoral research associates and other junior colleagues. Tsinghua also expects its faculty to help in advancing the lab's future and ensuring its success.
Applications must include a curriculum vitae, a publication list, a statement of research interests, a research plan, and arrange to have 3 letters of recommendation. Applicants should submit the required application materials to Jie Zhang via email(newfriend001@163.com) by March 1, 2020 to ensure full consideration.
