The Department of Engineering Physics at Tsinghua University invites applications for a faculty position at the associate professor level, in the area of laser-plasma accelerators.

Job responsibility:

1. Undertake research on the advanced electron sources based on laser-plasma accelerators (LPAs) including but not limited to (1) ultrafast electron diffraction/microscopy driven by LPA, (2) generation and diagnostics of high-brightness electron beams, and (3) development of key technologies in compact free electron lasers.

2. Undertake the theoretical studies and numerical simulations on the laser-plasma interaction. Develop advanced large scale parallel simulation software and optimization algorithm. Explore the machine learning in the parameter optimization of LPAs.

3. Assist in the cultivation of high-level talents.

Requirements:

1. Ph.D. or equivalent degree in relevant field.

2. At least three years of post-doctoral fellow or formal position experience at a reputable university or academic institute.

3. Experience in independent theoretical and experimental studies in the area of LPAs, with scientific achievements of international impact.

4. Enterprising, good sense of communication and teamwork.  The ability to undertake necessary management and service work related to discipline development.
