清华大学微型脉冲强子源(Compact Pulsed Hadron Source,CPHS)是由一台13 MeV/16 kW强流质子直线加速器驱动的中子源,为开展各种具有新创意、新方法、新技术、新仪器的科学实验研究提供操作方便、应用灵活、响应迅速的质子束和中子束;同时,作为多学科专业教育研究基地,可培养一批能够胜任强子大科学装置建设和应用的科学技术人才,特别是对于培养中子散射技术人才,对更好发挥国家大型中子源的作用意义重大。

Compact Pulsed Hadron Source (CPHS) is a neutron source driven by a 13 MeV/ 16kW proton linac, has the advantage of facile operation, deft flexibility and broad expediency in developing, testing, prototyping new ideas and instrumentation of wide variety of applications. It will offer a professional education, research and training platform on accelerator techniques and proton/neutron utilization for students and researchers from multi-disciplines,especially to those who focus on neutron scattering. All those people, are expected to play important roles for utilization of the national large-scale neutron sources.

CPHS于2009年立项建设;2013年RFQ加速器调试成功,获得3MeV质子束流,并打靶获得中子束流;2019年DTL加速器调试成功,获得13MeV质子束流和冷中子束流。后续将继续建设中子散射谱仪、中子成像实验站、质子辐照实验站等实验设施。

CPHS project was launched in 2019, 3 MeV proton beam and thermal neutron beam were achieved in 2013, and 13 MeV proton beam and cold neutron beam were achieved in 2019. Neutron scattering spectrometer, neutron imaging station and proton irradiation station and some other experimental station will be set up in the future.

 

中子靶站与中子谱仪Neutron Target Station and Neutron Instruments

CPHS由质子直线加速器产生的质子束流轰击铍靶,在中子靶站(TS)内产生中子,经液氦制冷的固态甲烷慢化器慢化后输运给中子谱仪。CPHS含一台中子小角散射谱仪(BL4)、一个中子成像实验站(BL2)、一条短程测试束线(BL1)和一条长程预留束线(BL3)。

CPHS is driven by a pulsed LINAC. Neutrons are produced in the target station (TS) by (p,n) reaction with Beryllium target and moderated by solid Methane. There are 4 beam lines: a small-angle scattering spectrometer (BL4), a neutron imaging station (BL2), a test line (BL1) and a long reserved line (BL3).

中子靶站 Target Station

中子靶站由中子转换靶、慢化器、反射体和屏蔽体组成。主要功能是质子束轰击铍靶产生中子,预期中子产额5×1013 n/s,经液氦冷却的固体甲烷慢化后得到冷中子。

The target station is composed of a target made of Be, a moderator, a reflector and shielding blocks. The expected neutron yield is 5×1013 n/s. The cold neutrons are obtained through the moderator of solid methane.

中子小角散射谱仪 Small-Angle Neutron Scattering Spectrometer

CPHS-SANS谱仪基于飞行时间法,使用小孔准直结构,1~10 Å波长中子和3He管阵列,可覆盖 0.007~1 Å-1Q范围,Q分辨率为2~30%,样品处的中子通量约为104 n/cm2/s。

The time-of-fight SANS spectrometer adopts pin-hole geometry. It covers a wide Q range (0.007-1 Å-1) with a Q-resolution of 2~30% by making use of a broad wavelength bandwidth (1-10Å) and a large area (1×1 m2) detector array of 3He tube, with a flux of ~ 104 n/cm2/s at the sample position.

中子成像实验站 Neutron Imaging Station

CPHS中子成像实验站采用不同光阑直径、不同样品-光阑距离,获得133~1200的L/D比;可选小视野10 cm×10 cm或大视野20 cm×20 cm;采用闪烁屏+CCD相机的CT空间分辨率可达0.5 mm,采用IP板照相空间分辨率可达0.1 mm。

CPHS neutron imaging station can achieve L/D ratio of 133~1200 with various aperture diameters and sample-aperture distances. The FOV can be 10 cm×10 cm or 20 cm×20 cm. The resolution of CT with scintillator screen + CCD camera is 0.5mm. The resolution with IP can be ~0.1 mm.
